Meet the Providers

Rashidah M. Afolarin, Family Nurse Practitioner Board Certified (FNP-BC)
Specialty: Family Medicine. Ketamine and Nutrition Infusion Therapies.

I was born and raised in West Africa. I migrated from Nigeria to the USA in 2004. I developed love for healthcare as a rewardable profession morally and spiritually. As a teenager, I was fortunate to care for my sick grandmother with love and passion. This opportunity allowed me to have more love for the medical profession in order to care for individuals across lifespan and I started a journey on a healthcare career.

I earned my undergraduate degree from Pennsylvania State University in 2010. I was able to maintain good professional conduct by working for multiple organizations with great reputations such as specialist hospital at Deborah Heart and Lungs Center, Community Hospital such as Lourdes Hospital in Burlington County NJ, and University of Pennsylvania/Chestnut Hill Hospital Philadelphia , PA. Over a decade, I have gained tremendous experience as a registered nurse, licenced in multiple States such as NJ, PA, & DE. I have a background in emergency medicine, Intensive care, skilled nurse facilities, corrections, mental health and home care. Graduated from Walden University with a Master of Science in Nursing in 2016. I completed my clinical rotations at Saint Peter’s Medical Center of NJ for OB GYN clinical rotations. I was also trained by Dr. Patel Rajankumar, a Geriatric Medicine Specialist at Family Practice clinic in Cherry Hill, NJ as well as Sunlight Medical in Willingboro, NJ Adolescent Medicine and Pediatrics. I am currently an hospitalist at Nazareth Hospital in Philadelphia, PA.

I am a member of: American Academy of Nurse Practitioners.
National Association of Nigerian Nurse Practitioners USA.
American Association of Critical-Care Nurses.

Being the COE of Upright Healthcare LLC is an opportunity for me to give back to our community. I have been successful in fulfilling my career goals with the help of God, support from my beloved husband and my entire family.

I enjoy spending my free time reading and teaching the holy Quran. Traveling, cooking and cleaning are my hobbies. I prioritize spending quality time with my family by watching and playing soccer/basketball games. I also value giving back to the communities especially to the orphans and vulnerable elders.
